Pimples are undoubtedly ones worst nightmare and with growing age the appearance of pimple on your face is quite inevitable. You have this grand event in few days and to agitate you pops up the ugly pimple on your head. Annoying Right!!! People with oily skin are more prone to pimples because it usually pops out due to inflammation of the oil glands underneath our skin due to bacterial infection that swells up to be filled with pus. The sebaceous glands or oil glands produce sebum and due to dead skin remains, the pores on our skin is blocked which accumulates sebum. The accumulated sebum behind the blockage promotes the growth of bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, which feeds on sebum and grows rapidly to cause skin inflammation in form of pimples. Usually pimples are harmless and disappear within few days but sometimes leave bad marks on our face. These are few home remedies that can be used for treating pimples.
Honey is known for its anti-bacterial properties which is why it is very effective in reducing and treating pimples. Honey acts as natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory agent which help in rapid healing of pimples. Honey has antiseptic properties due to presence of hydrogen peroxide that heals wound caused by acne and pimples. Honey is also rich in anti-oxidants which prevent acne eruption by scavenging off free radices. Honey is effective in cleaning blood and detoxifying body which prevents pimple breakout.
Apply honey on your face as mask; leave on for half an hour before washing off.
Honey can also be mixed with sea salt to make exfoliate which reduces skin toxicity and help in removing dead skin.
Make a mixture of honey and olive oil, apply on your skin and massage for 5 minutes. Place a cloth dipped in warm water on your face for the mixture to be better absorbed and wipe off your face once the cloth cools down.
Include honey as regular part of your diet. Take one tablespoon of honey every morning with warm water.
B. Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is very effective and helps in fighting against bacterial infection that causes skin problems and pimple eruptions. It has soothing properties which reduces the redness and soothes inflammation caused by pimples. It doesn’t strip you off your natural oil. The ingredients of tea tree oil helps in unclogging the pores and in turn reduce the occurrence of pimples by releasing sebum accumulation.
Add few drops of tea tree oil on cotton bud, apply it gently on affected area or on pimples, leave overnight and wash off in the morning with water.
Mix 3 or 4 drops of tea tree oil in honey and apply the paste on pimples; wash off after 30 minutes with plain water.
Make a paste by adding 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil with aloe vera gel, apply on pimples and wash off after 30 minutes.
Lemon is rich in Vitamin C content that contains natural astringent and antibacterial agent that helps exfoliating dead skin as well as effectively opens the clogged pores. Through it antiseptic properties it also prevents the growth of bacteria.
Squeeze out juice from the lemon, dab a cotton ball and apply on affected area, leave for 15 minutes to let the lemon juice dry before washing off.
Make a mask by mixing lemon juice to honey and egg white, apply the mask and leave on for 20 to 25 minutes before washing off.
Toothpaste is one of the most effective and easy remedy for pimple. It is seen that on application of toothpaste the drying process of pimple is enhanced due to presence of a compound called Triclosan, which acts as anti bacterial agent. Ensure that you are using a white toothpaste preferably Colgate White being the best option. Wash your face and hands properly before applying toothpaste to affected area. Squeeze little bit of toothpaste and apply it over the pimple, leave overnight and wash your face properly with cold water next morning.
It is a traditional Indian spice which has anti-bacterial properties and has proved to be effective for many things. Turmeric destroys the pimple causing bacteria and also removes excess oil. Turmeric is rich source of anti-oxidant which help in reducing free radicals. It is recommended to use raw turmeric as it is more effective.
Grind turmeric and milk the same with honey, apply the paste on your pimples and wash off after 20 to 25 minutes. Use everyday to keep skin beautiful and healthy.
Grate turmeric and add olive oil to it. Apply the mixture on pimples and leave on for 30 minutes. It is very effective in rapidly clearing off pimple.
Mix turmeric with milk and apply it on your pimple everyday to get quick relief from annoying acnes and pimples.
