There are many reasons for hair damage and among the dominant reason are pollution, excessive chemical use, straightening and hair colour. Our hair tends to lose moisture leading to its roughness and lack of proteins makes them brittle. Most of us go to the parlours for spa and keratin treatment but it is very expensive. Instead for smooth, silky and damage free hair try natural and home-made mask. Using homemade hair mask retains the required moisture and are cost effective. Try them regularly and feel the difference.
A. Banana pack
Banana is rich in fructose, glucose and sucrose which reduce the hair dryness and help in keeping hair moisturised. Make a banana mask by combining one ripe mashed banana with 2 tablespoon of yoghurt and honey. Alternatively banana can also be used with oil and honey for making an enriching hair mask. App any of the pack and leave for one hour. Wash off very mild shampoo.
B. Egg mask
Egg is rich in protein and thus is very effective in treating dry, frizzy and damaged hair. Separate the yolk and egg white as it can be used based on the texture of the hair. For oily hair egg white is used and for excessive dry hair egg yolk is used. If you have normal hair you can use both. Take the yolk or egg white or both in a bowl and add yoghurt, olive oil and 1 tablespoon lemon juice to make a mask. Apply the mask and leave for 30 minutes. Ensure that you wash your hair with cold water and use a mild fruit flavoured shampoo to cover the smell.
C. Yoghurt Mask
Yoghurt is rich in many nutrients and help in restoring damaged hair by providing the required moisture. Make Yoghurt and Black Gram pack by mixing paste of grinded overnight soaked black gram with yoghurt. Apply the paste properly on hair and roots and wash off with a mild shampoo after leaving on for 30 minutes. Alternatively make fenugreek and yoghurt hair mask by mixing over night soaked grinded fenugreek paste with yoghurt, lemon juice, honey and little water. Apply for an hour and wash off with mild shampoo.
D. Aloe Vera Pack
Aloe Vera is rich in anti-oxidant content and has moisturising properties which reduces dry damage on hair. The best treatment is using raw aloe vera. Cut a stem, take out the aloe vera gel and mix it with little water to make a paste. Apply the gel on hair and scalp, leave on for 20 – 25 minutes and wash off with a very mild shampoo. Alternatively make Aloe vera and flaxseed mask. Boil flax seed till it forms a foamy water, filter the water in a bowl and mix aloe vera gel, tablespoon of honey and butter. Mix the pack properly and apply on hair as well as scalp. Wash off after leaving on for 30 minutes.
It is very important to oil your head regularly for deep nourishment and strengthening of root. Use warm coconut oil or olive oil to massage your hair. Keep your hair healthy and stay beautiful.
